What Are We Missing?
This most recent shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School has stunned many of us. It seems since the Columbine Shooting, back in April of 1999, it just hasn’t stopped. Over that period of time, 50 mass murders, or attempted murders, have occurred at schools, and 141 people, mostly kids, who have been killed! Many are asking, why—what’s going on? What are we missing?
It would seem the vast majority do not recognize what we’re missing. The mainstream media, politicos, pundits, and the major news publications don’t address it. Instead, the secular and/or humanistic approach of implementing more legal restrictions often is the narrative favored over facing the real problem—a deficient amount of character and respect for human life.
But then it’s not easy to admit we are failing our children when we claim we love them so much. There is nothing harder to face and deal with than to not be able to provide and protect our youngsters—especially when they are so impressionable and vulnerable. Yet, it seems there is a growing number of them that are confused and directionless about their purpose in life and why they were born. Many of these killers claim to be unhappy and sometimes come from abusive home environment without their biological parents, or maybe just one parent, or a guardian of some sort. It’s very unfortunate—but there is a solution!
In this Biblical News Update and Commentary, Bill addresses what everyone is missing. And though it would seem obvious, it’s not often accepted as the solution, simply because of the growing humanistic views of “moral relativism” and human reasoning used for solving humanities’ problems. It seems our leaders want to solve these social problems we face with secular solutions, when in fact it’s a spiritual problem within the human heart—it’s our nature that needs confronting and which requires changed.
