God's House is Filled with Atheists
by Jeremy A. Brown
What if I told you that the church is full of atheists?! Atheists do attend church, but they profess and believe that they are Christians. According to the Lutheran historian Martin Marty, in the book The Marketing of Evil by David Kupelian, too many pews are filled on the Sabbath and Sunday with practical atheists—disguised nonbelievers who live their lives during the week as if God does not exist, meaning they never touch their Bible, pray, have Bible studies, fast, and/or actively participate in other Bible-related studies outside of church services. God does say many are called—I mean, more than 75 percent of Americans claim to be Christians—but few will be chosen (Matthew 22:14). Many Christians choose to worship God how they desire, built on passed-down traditions and not based on the instructions given to us by God our Father in His Bible.
Many church-goers have no clue what to say regarding today's moral chaos and only regurgitate what they hear from their preachers, who only preach "happy" feeling messages. Many Christians claim that God is cold, and they do not know or understand Him. We often ask how America and the West got into our current moral debacle. We need not look any further than those who claim to be Christians but live like atheists. According to recent Pew Research, more than 50 percent of professing Christians believe abortion should be legal under any circumstances, 44 percent of professing Christians support homosexual marriage, 59 percent of professing Christians believe that cohabitating partners can raise children as well as if not better than married couples, only 56 percent of professing Christians believe completely in the God of the Bible, and the list goes on. Just Google the Pew research on Christians for additional research data on this subject matter. God says it plain and clear in Matthew 22:14; many are called, but few are chosen. Many Americans claim to be Christian and claim to do things in God's name, but they do not believe or keep the laws and holy days that He commands His followers to keep. (John 8:31-32). Many professing Christians assert that they love God but choose pagan holidays such as Christmas and Easter to worship God. God does not condone cohabitation, abortion, homo or bisexual and pansexuality, or keeping holidays that are pagan in origin in His name, nor does He condone lying and deceit (1 Corinthians 6:8-10). God tells us what laws, precepts, and holy days He wants us to follow in the Bible (John 14:15).
God says in 2 Corinthians 5:20-21 that the way today's Christians are living is wrong! We are God's AMBASSADORS, and how we live and keep His commandments and precepts will send a message to the world. We tell the world through our actions as professing Christ-followers (Christians). This is the true way to worship our Father. God does not want to be worshipped with Christmas and Easter, which are filled with empty pagan rituals (Deuteronomy 12:4; Jeremiah 10:3-4). God has given us a book—His Holy Bible—and it tells us exactly how we must worship Him. It is our duty to let the world know the truth and show correctly how it is done. Keeping God's Word the correct way will set us free (John 8:31-32)! We must make sure we are praying daily and throughout the week, fasting, studying (not just reading) our Bibles, and living our daily lives with God involved in each day in every facet and not just on the Sabbaths and holy days. It must be/become your way of life. Make worshipping God a habit you cannot live without!
